As difficult as the transition is, aren't you glad to have known your father-in-law? We are blessed by our elders in so many uncounted ways.

My father-in-law was a little crotchety at the end but he was always kind to me and our children.

Vicki, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I appreciate you taking the time and sharing how you deal with this for your students. We have several families at school that lost their fathers right before school started this year. Talk about a tremendous load for those kids. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
